Our Goal
The clear biblical goal of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and facilitate their spiritual maturity, not only pursue the salvation of sinners. Hopefully Spring Creek’s Education Plan gives you the opportunity to progressively grow in Christlikeness in all areas of life. The aim of these classes is not a head full of facts and concepts, but a heart humbled by truth, inspired to worship, and ready to serve the Lord. That, in turn, will make you a more God-centered, effective evangelist.
23 in 6
At SCBC, we aim to offer a comprehensive rotation of courses designed to form your theology and equip you in essential areas of living for Christ. This plan allows you to take all 23 core classes in a 6 year period*. This means that a young person (starting in the 7th grade) has two opportunities to take each course by the time he/she is 24 years old, and at least one opportunity to take each course by the time he/she reaches 12th grade.
In addition to the 23 core classes (indicated in grey below), there are also many other electives ranging from Basics of Biblical Counseling to specific studies of portions of Scripture, plus classes on leadership development, parenting, marriage, stewardship, spiritual disciplines, and strengthening your role as a biblically-minded man or woman.
*Some classes may be offered in condensed seminars or on weeknights. Five classes beyond the Discipleship Hour are needed to complete the “23 in 6 Years” core.
